Books (Perfect bound)

This is a printed booklet that is held together using adhesive in the spine. It is always produced with a 'square' spine and a separate cover that is wrapped around the internal pages and glued on in the spine.

Definition:

A method of producing books, made up by placing folded sections on top of each other in the correct page order. The spines are then sawn off (typically 3mm), roughened and notches cut into the spine to allow the adhesive to create a better bond with the paper. The covers are then drawn on, scored on the machine, usually in two places (where possible) and trimmed on three edges.
